Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8-count) refrigerated crescent roll dough or biscuit dough
- 8 large marshmallows
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. Separate the pre-made dough into individual pieces (8 for crescent rolls or biscuits). If using crescent roll dough, press the perforations together to form solid triangles.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a circle about 4 inches in diameter. This will help ensure the marshmallow is fully enclosed.
- Place one marshmallow in the center of each dough circle. Fold the edges of the dough over the marshmallow, pinching tightly to seal. This represents sealing Jesus in the tomb.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon. Brush each sealed dough ball with melted butter, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. The marshmallow will melt, leaving an empty center—just like the empty tomb!
Notes
- Use fresh marshmallows for best results—stale ones may not melt properly.
- Ensure the dough is tightly sealed to prevent marshmallow leakage.
- Let the rolls cool slightly before serving—the melted marshmallow will be very hot!
